Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Financial Verification Specialist to audit claims, invoices, and payroll for accuracy, authorization, and supporting documentation. Duties include ensuring expenditures comply with federal, state, and departmental regulations; assigning correct appropriation codes, program activities, and funding sources; reconciling invoices with purchase orders and confirming receipt of goods or services; reviewing payroll against source documents; investigating and resolving discrepancies before payment; maintaining financial logs and records (e.g., attendance, travel); and assisting with complex claims under supervision.
